On 31 July 2025, the Neuwied trio from Smelty + Partners Claus Raemer, Mahmoud Elshaikh Salawi and Christian Scheidgen met Dr Karima Al Madhoun in his capacity as a city councillor in Neuwied. The child pedagogue is working in the West Bank region to ensure that kindergarten children receive a pre-school programme instead of working in the fields with their parents.

Pre-school programme for children and education programme for mothers
As there are no kindergartens in the rural area, but a large number of public buildings, Dr Al Madhoun developed the concept of ‘mobile kindergartens’. Kindergarten teachers and trainers travel to the respective location at certain times. There, the pre-school children are offered play and learning programmes to prepare them for a good start to school. At the same time, the mothers receive health and nutrition training with the aim of boosting the health of the whole family.
Specialist support signalled
After all, in this region, as everywhere else in the world, children are the future for peaceful coexistence between people. Smelty + Partners Neuwied has signalled its support and is looking for further specialist partnerships.
